The Masked Singer: Daisy May Cooper and Claire Richards are unmasked in double elimination

Daisy May Cooper leaves The Masked Singer panel in stitches as she’s unmasked as Otter – while Steps’ Claire Richards is revealed as Knitting in shock DOUBLE elimination

Daisy May Cooper left The Masked Singer fans in stitches on Saturday evening as she was unmasked as Otter during the show.

The actress and comedian was voted into the bottom three during the episode, before being sent home by the judging panel and revealing her identity.

And it was a double elimination, as Claire Richards also unveiled herself as Knitting just moments before, after she lost out to the public vote.

An out of breath Daisy had the judges gobsmacked while she showed her face, before declaring: ‘I’m exhausted. Why couldn’t I have been a sloth or something? It’s so much jumping around.’

It was a good night for judging panel Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan, as they managed to correctly guess both of the unmasked stars.

Mo managed to guess that Daisy was behind Otter’s mask earlier in the show, while the rest of the panel suggested names such as Kim Woodburn and Mel Giedroyc.

After being unmasked, the This Country star explained that she did it for her daughter Pip, but also jested that she ‘needed the cash’.

While she appeared to be all sung out as the time came for her final performance without the mask, as Daisy couldn’t quite get through the song between laughing and being out of breath.

But talking after being voted out, Daisy dubbed the experience ‘the best job I’ve ever done’, admitting that she was ‘gutted’ to be voted out.

‘I did it to surprise my daughter Pip, but when she found out I was going to be the Otter she cried and said that it was embarrassing,’ explained the blonde.

Fans were delighted to see Daisy on the show, as one took to Twitter to share: ‘I can’t stop smiling, daisy’s unmasked performance was everything’.

Admitting that she was a fan of the show, Claire shared: ‘I feel like a fan who’s won a competition.’

And as host Joel Domment questioned what her two children, son Charlie and daughter Daisy, would say, Claire admitted: ‘I think they will be surprised. Charlie might be slightly humiliated’.

It appears the panel got it right this time, as Davina McCall had predicted that Claire was inside Knitting’s mask earlier in the show, while guest star Stephen Mulhern agreed.

While Rita Ora was close as she stayed with the Steps theme, but guessed it could be Claire’s bandmate Faye Tozer.

Earlier in the show, Knitting, AKA Claire, sensationally performed Anastacia’s Left Outside Alone.

Knitting, Fawn, and Otter were left in the bottom three – with Knitting receiving the least amount of votes and being forced to unmask as Claire.

Then it came down to the judges, who decided to save Fawn and send home Otter – who then had to remove their own mask.

First up was Fawn, who performed a rendition of Paloma Faith’s Changing and sparked a wide range of guesses from the panel – from Bella Thorne to Anne Robinson.

Jellyfish quickly had the panel on their feet by showing off their impressive vocal range with a performance of Heart’s Alone.

Another contestant with stunning vocals was Rhino, who had Jonathan convinced James Arthur was behind the mask.

Next was Jacket Potato, who shocked fans by singing and playing the electric to guitar Fleetwood Mac’s Go Your Own Way.

‘He’s a rocker!’ exclaimed Davina.

While Phoenix was last but not least to perform.
