It looks as though Shakira has taken a jab at her ex-partner Gerard Piqué in the wake of him going Instagram official with his girlfriend Clara Chia.
‘Women don’t cry anymore, women dance merengue,’ the Columbia native, 45, captioned an Instagram post on Thursday, January 26, alongside a video of herself shaking her curves to one of her hit songs.
The former soccer star’s decision to go public with his new romance on social media comes in the wake of Shakira taking a swipe at Clara in her new diss track, which has since topped Spotify‘s Global Charts.
The celebrity couple split in June 20222 after a 12-year romance, which came amid cheating allegations.

Shakira (born Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll) allegedly realized her ex-boyfriend had been unfaithful when she discovered a jar of strawberry jam had been eaten while she was away.
The Barranquilla, Columbia native then went onto reference the strawberry jam in a music video for her single Te Felicito in April, which featured a clip of a head of her collaborator Rauw Alejandro inside an open fridge.
According to ShowNews Today, Shakira knew her former longtime lover and their two sons Sasha, 10, and Milan, who turns eight on Sunday, didn’t like strawberry jam, and so she figured out that someone else had been staying at their home when she found the jar.

Residents in the area have reported hearing Shakira ‘blasting the song at full volume’ from her Spanish home, which includes lyrics aimed at his new girlfriend.
Shakira, makes it crystal clear she is referring to the 23-year-old her former partner is now dating, saying: ‘I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio.’

While Shakira’s new song features some barbed lyrics aimed at Piqué and his new partner, Clara Chia Marti, she also includes a few choice words for her ex-mother-in-law.
In the song, she sings the line: ‘You left my mother-in-law as my neighbour, with the press at the door and the debt in the Treasury…’
It has been reported that the relationship between Shakira and Montserrat Bernabéu [Piqué’s mother] has turned sour after she readily welcomed her son’s new romance.
Piqué, who was considered one of the best defenders of his generation, retired from professional soccer in November 2022.
