Sexually transmitted diseases: How to protect yourself when traveling and in general

A trip that exposes you to casual acquaintances or prostitutes puts you at risk of communicable diseases, including HIV infection. Here is a list of common sexually transmitted diseases that you need to know of so that you can keep yourself safe. Vidalista 40 is the best medication to treat erectile dysfunction in men.

Two to seven days after sexual contact you will feel the first symptoms: purulent discharge from the urethra in men, increased discharge in women, or often no symptoms. A relatively quick cure is possible with antibiotics.

A painless small sore on the outer genitals is the first sign of syphilis, but this often goes unnoticed in women, that is until they swell. You usually discover the first symptoms 15 to 40 days after infection. Even without treatment, they disappear again, but the disease progresses and must be treated with antibiotics.

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) attacks the cells of your immune system and, over time, causes your defenses to deteriorate. Your body can no longer defend itself against certain infectious or cancerous diseases. An HIV infection can go on for years without any outward signs of infection. Like most sexually transmitted diseases, AIDS is spread around the world, so risky behavior means you can be contagious anywhere. Certain countries require proof of an HIV test for longer stays.

HIV Transmission

Body fluids are the most common means of transmitting HIV. This can happen during sexual intercourse, exchanging used syringes, transfusions of untested blood or other blood products, and from the infected mother to the unborn child. In 80% of cases, sexual transmission is responsible for HIV infection.

Skin contact such as kissing and caressing, using public toilets, swimming pools, public transport, or visiting restaurants are absolutely harmless. Mosquitoes do not pose a risk of HIV transmission either.

Genital herpes

Genital herpes is caused by the same viruses that cause the well-known cold sore, but the causative agents of genital herpes are different types of virus. The causative agent of cold sores is referred to as herpes simplex type 1, that of genital herpes as herpes simplex type 2. The initial infection often goes unnoticed and without symptoms. Once the body has been infected by the herpes virus, it can last a lifetime and lead to the outbreak of the disease again and again. A typical sign is the characteristic blisters that dry up after a crust has formed.

Hepatitis B

The Hepatitis is a liver disease caused by a virus, bacteria, or other pathogens that cause jaundice. Hepatitis B is a sexually transmitted disease and is caused by viruses. In addition to sexual intercourse, transmission can also take place via the blood (repeatedly used ear piercings, syringes, or tattoo instruments), breast milk, or saliva.

HPV (Human Papillomavirus)

Infection with certain human papillomaviruses, of which more than 200 virus types are known to date, triggers the formation of so-called genital warts in the genital area. They are among the most common sexually transmitted diseases caused by viruses.

In the case of infection with cancer-causing HP virus types, cervical cancer and other carcinomas can develop on the vulva, vagina, anus, in the oropharynx area, penis, and according to more recent studies, also on the skin.

Papillomaviruses are mainly transmitted sexually. Moisture, eczema, or scratches promote infection.

How can you protect yourself?

Protect yourself against HIV transmission and other sexually transmitted diseases as follows:

  • Always use condoms when having sex outside of an HIV-free, faithful partner relationship. These also protect against unwanted pregnancy. So always carry them with you and make sure you use them correctly. Do not let social circumstances or the consumption of alcohol tempt you to forego this protection!
  • Refrain from exchanging syringes or needles when using intravenous drugs.
  • Always ask for unused disposable material for medical or naturopathic treatment – do not use anyone else’s razors or toothbrushes. Vidalista 20 is one part of the sexual dysfuntion in men.
  • Refrain from tattoos and other “hurting” interventions for jewelry purposes.
  • Always be well informed about the region you are traveling to. Make sure you have the correct information and don’t get sidetracked with hoaxes like blue wafflé disease.
  • Lastly, prevention is the best cure. If you feel you are in a situation where there is even a hint of contracting some infection, then simply avoid it.
