‘As women we should be allowed to be sexual for ourselves, to be confident, to be provocative. And if we can monetise on that – then brilliant!’
Also on the podcast, Sarah opened up on the misconceptions of the X-rated platform, saying ‘we’re conditioned to be shocked’ by the content.
She added: ‘Some people are embarrassed about monetising on their appearance, but why should you be? It’s a content creators dream.
‘You can do whatever you want on there – but not everyone always does porn – I don’t!
‘There’s a lot on there. For me it’s a really good platform and business model.’

She said on the podcast: ‘It was a crazy time. Two months after I launched on the platform I was thrown into the media like never before. It wasn’t my choice – they went to the press and told them they’d sacked me.
‘Everyone knew the only reason I was sacked was because of my OnlyFans account – and I hadn’t kept it a secret. I’m not ashamed of it.

‘My intention was never to leave the show, it was to run the site alongside it for extra financial income and creative freedom – something I could be in control of.
‘It’s something they knew about – I’d had meetings with them. So for it to all come to a head like that was just shock. The ultimatum was “you have to take it down” and I just said I’m not going to do that.’
Sarah was cast in the famous soap at the age of 14.
Speaking about finding fame at such a young age, Sarah explained that she has recently started seeing a therapist and realises the consequences of it are only ‘really hitting’ her now.

‘It never really hit me how big of a deal it was and it’s only really now that I look back – and obviously everything that’s happened with me over the past 12 months – that I go “gosh it was actually a really big deal!”‘, she said.
Sarah had a brief hiatus from the show after 10 years, when she left off her own accord.
Shedding light on that time, she said: ‘I was ready to step away from the character and from the show to find myself as a young woman.
‘I’d spent all of my younger and formative years on the job as a character – so I did it as a bit of soul searching to get away and out of the schedule.
‘And I loved it… it was the best choice I made. I loved and despised the industry in equal measure.
‘It’s all I’d ever known so what I’m unpicking now (I started seeing a therapist) that I look back and see how being apart of the industry and being in the limelight – it has had an impact.
‘It’s the control – I’ve always filtered what I said and I’ve always thought I have to behave/ dress a certain a way.’
