Sally Field reveals Tom Brady was ‘nervous’ while shooting 80 For Brady

Sally Field has high praise for Tom Brady‘s performance in her new film 80 For Brady

‘He was lovely,’ the 76-year-old said in a cover story for People. ‘He just was Tom Brady. He was a completely lovely human.’

She added that he told her he was ‘so nervous’ and didn’t know where to put his feet. Sally added, ‘But he was a natural.’

‘Athletes get the same kind of adrenaline, except most actors aren’t worried that their limbs will be ripped off,’ she added.

And Brady, who retired from the NFL on Wednesday, also had praise for Sally.

‘That’s a serious compliment coming from someone so incredibly talented,’ he told People.

‘I learned so much from Sally just being in the same room as her and it was truly an honor to work alongside her for this film. She is so much fun to be around and I loved my time on set with everyone,’ he added.

The Hollywood legend stars in the comedy with Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and the Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

But it isn’t only Brady’s onscreen performance the Brothers And Sisters star is praising. She’s also a fan of his on the field antics.

‘I’ve been watching him,’ the Norma Rae star said. ‘Every once in a while, I’m going, “Oh no, no.” And then he does his Tom Brady Thing, which this magic takes over.’

‘I am like, “How was that possible? How did you do that? You were behind, the team was behind. There was no way you’re going to win,”‘ she continued. ‘And there’s like 10 seconds to go, bing, bang, boom, done. Won.’

And even before the news that Brady was retiring for the second, and presumably final, time was released, Sally was worried about him.

‘I’m a little worried about Tom this year, I must say,’ the Flying Nun star said. ‘I know he wanted one more year, but I think he’ll probably be back for another because I don’t think he’s happy with this year. But that’s my feeling.’

On Wednesday, the quarterback ended his legendary 23-year career in the NFL during which he won seven Super Bowls and set the records for career passing years and touchdown passes.

‘I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first,’ Brady said in a video on Twitter, referring to his first retirement a year ago.

‘I won’t be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year, so really thank you guys so much to every single one of you for supporting me.’
