MAFS: Martha Kalifatidis says watching Jesse Burford is worse than morning sickness

Martha Kalifatidis says watching picky MAFS groom Jesse Burford is WORSE than her sickness-ridden pregnancy: ‘Seriously not coping with him!’

Heavily pregnant Martha Kalifatidis says watching Married At First Sight this year has been more painful than her months of horrific morning sickness.

The season six bride is 36 weeks pregnant with her first child and has been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

But she revealed on Monday her symptoms weren’t as bad as the nauseous experience she had watching MAFS groom Jesse Burford constantly pick apart his wife Claire Nomarhas.

Taking to Instagram while the show was airing, she told her 600,000 followers she ‘can’t cope’ with watching the arrogant wedding celebrant on TV.

‘Currently 36+ weeks pregnant, not coping with being this pregnant but seriously not coping with HIM!’ she wrote.

Jesse, 30, has found himself on the wrong side of MAFS viewers after making dismissive remarks to his new bride Claire Nomarhas, both on and off camera.

Things fell apart soon after their wedding when he ‘shushed’ the 31-year-old kindergarten assistant for being ‘too loud’ at the airport on the way to their honeymoon in the Whitsundays.

Claire was ‘very upset’ and began to ‘second guess’ everything she was saying, and how she said it.

Jesse later complained to producers that Claire seemed ‘unaware of how loud she’s speaking’ and that he needed some ‘silence’.

Many viewers were furious at the way Jesse spoke to his new wife – including Martha.

After appearing on MAFS in 2019, Martha said it was ‘so funny’ watching the new season, which brings back ‘so many memories’ for her.

She was matched with former school teacher Michael Brunelli on her season, and now the couple is engaged and expecting their first child together.

The influencer said her main piece of advice for the brides and grooms this year would be that attraction isn’t always instant.

‘This would be my advice to the guys and the girls: they are all so caught up on attraction and I feel like attraction kind of comes later,’ she said.

‘I wasn’t attracted to [Michael] when I first saw him and here I am now five years later carrying his child who is slowly trying to kill me and living in my parents’ house where we are engaged, soon to be married.

‘I just want to say attraction will come later.’
