Katherine Ryan unveiled as Pigeon on The Masked Singer UK

Katherine Ryan was unmasked as the celebrity behind Pigeon during Saturday evening’s The Masked Singer. 

The Canadian comedian, 39, who gave birth to her third child in December and who said she was about a month away from giving birth while filming last year, was left in the bottom two after receiving the least amount of votes alongside co-star Jacket Potato when the episode aired this weekend.

And after the judges decided to save the latter, Pigeon was unmasked as the funnywoman before leaving the show.

Fawn, Rhino, Phoenix, Knitting, Jellyfish and Otter all made it through to the next round of the show when it returns next weekend.

Before Katherine was unmasked, panellist Jonathan Ross guessed it was actress Liza Tarbuck in the Pigeon costume while Rita Ora predicted model Jodie Kidd, Davina McCall said Loose Woman Nadia Sawalha and Mo Gilligan guessed actress Emily Atack.

Joking that some viewers thought it was former The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins performing as Pigeon, Katherine said: ‘I can only do a sort of Essex accent because I watch so much reality TV.’

On preparing to give birth to her third child at the time, Katherine said: ‘I have a month left. 

‘I feel like I have a baby’s foot in my lung at most times and it is actually harder than I thought. 

‘But you can’t tell my daughter anything because she would spill it to the whole school so she’ll be finding out along with everyone else!’

Judges Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, and Mo Gilligan opted to save Jacket Potato from the bottom two and sent them through to the next round but none of them had guessed Katherine’s identity correctly.

Katherine closed out the show by performing Fight For This Love by Cheryl, which she performed earlier in the show.

Next week’s edition of the series will feature a ‘world first’ in the form of a double elimination.
