JoJo Siwa took to TikTok on Tuesday, clarifying that she does not regret appearing on the Lifetime reality series Dance Moms.
The 19-year-old Omaha, Nebraska native – who just celebrated two years as a member of the LGBTQ+ community – first appeared on Abby Lee Miller’s series Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition before appearing on her flagship series Dance Moms, which helped launch her career.
Last week Siwa posted a video captioned, ‘Reasons I regret Dance Moms,’ but she didn’t list any reasons, clarifying in Tuesday’s video that she doesn’t regret being on the show… but she regrets an instance where she didn’t watch the movie Carrie like Miller had asked her.

‘OK that is the truth. I don’t regret doing Dance Moms at all, or being a part of Dance Moms at all,’ Siwa began.
‘It made me who I am today and I have nothing but love for the show,’ Siwa continued, before revealing her Carrie regret.
‘However… I do have one regret from my time on Dance Moms, and that is that I did not watch the movie Carrie,’ Siwa admitted.

‘Now, if you’ve ever seen the scene from Dance Moms when I say the quote, “Well, if you yell at me, I’m gonna cry,” it’s because Abby was yelling at me because I didn’t watch the movie my dance was inspired by, which was the horror movie Carrie,’ Siwa explained.
She added that she didn’t watch the movie, ‘because I was scared, I was 12, I was in a hotel room,’ and said that she does think she would, ‘play the character better if I watched the movie.’
‘With that being said, even though I regret that… I really don’t regret that because I probably would have never come up with saying, “Well if you yell at me I’m gonna cry” and that would have never happened, so no regrets,’ Siwa concluded.

After a few years on Dance Moms, Siwa branched out and released her first singles Boomerang and I Can Make U Dance in 2016.
Her popularity began to explode in just a few years, embarking on her first major tour in 2019 and being named one of Time’s 100 most influential people in 2020.
Siwa also celebrated her two-year anniversary of coming out as part of the LGBTQ+ community, wearing a shirt that read, ‘Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.’

She recently started a new relationship with TikTok model Savannah Demers, just a month after calling it quits with Avery Cyrus.
It was also announced in October that she will star in the new horror movie called Sketch, produced by N’Sync’s Lance Bass.
