Jimmy Bartel is a firm favourite to replace Ross Lyon on Footy Classified amid show shake-up
Jimmy Bartel could be taking over from Ross Lyon on Footy Classified as the retired player has been upping his media presence.
As his Sunday Sport show on Melbourne’s 3AW with Mark Allen has proved to be a hit with its massive ratings, sources have told the Herald Sun that he is a favourite to take the panelist spot on the Channel 9 sport show.
The former AFL star has also been impressing media executives at the station with his weekly podcast with Eddie McGuire on 9podcasts.

Bartel has also impressed fans with his knowledge of the game in his commentary role on Channel 7 and by filling presenting shifts on 3AW breakfast alongside Jacqui Felgate on Wide World of Sports.
As Ross Lyon has been appointed Saints coach, insiders told the publication that Bartel would be a perfect fit for the role, with the panel size on the Wednesday show also set to be reduced.
