Jennifer Lopez goes VERY casual as she films reshoots for her upcoming action film The Mother

Her latest film Shotgun Wedding has already been beset by lousy reviews ahead of its January 27 premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

But Jennifer Lopez was focused on the future on Thursday as she continued to work on her upcoming action thriller The Mother.

The 53-year-old actress and singer was seen filming some reshoots for the movie in an ultra-casual costume that was a far cry from her usual glamorous ensembles.

She was filming on a rainy, overcast Los Angeles day, which perfectly suited her casual wintry costume.

What a difference! Jennifer Lopez eschewed her usual haute couture ensembles for a rugged costume as she filmed reshoots for her upcoming action thriller The Mother on Thursday

Jennifer looked toasty in a loose-fitting gray sweater that was frayed around the hem, which she covered up with a gray corduroy jacket with a fleece lining and and breast and sleeve pockets.

She also had on a set of large weathered black pants that were bunched up above her rugged brown hiking boots.

She wore her messy brunette locks styled down and capped off with a charcoal toque.

Jennifer, who was spotted doing some of her own makeup between takes, also appeared to sport some fake bruises on her face, a standard accessory for action films.

The Hustlers star stayed warm on the breezy day by sipping from a mug that she carried with herself.

The Mother is the latest film from director Niki Caro, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed film Whale Rider and Disney’s live-action flop Mulan, which was released on Disney+ for a fee in September 2020, while many movie theaters will still closed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Jennifer stars in the high-octane thriller as an ex-assassin who tries to leave her bloody past behind, only to take up the role once again to protect her estranged daughter, even as other assassins are on her tail.

Joseph Fiennes, Gael García Bernal and Omari Hardwick also star in the film, which will stream on Netflix beginning on May 12, 2023.

Missing from Jennifer’s shoot was her husband Ben Affleck and the five children they share as part of their blended family.

The actress and singer gushed about becoming a stepmother to the 50-year-old Oscar winner’s three children — Violet, 17; Seraphina, 14; and Samuel, 10 — while speaking with Extra at the premiere of her new romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding on Wednesday.

Ben also became the stepfather of her twins Emme and Max, 14, whom she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.

But Jennifer wasn’t completely cheery at the premiere, as she shared with People that she often struggles to balance her busy professional life with her family obligations.

While she stunned on the red carpet in a sheer Valentino Couture gown decorated with sparkling spangles, Jennifer sounded over the moon while speaking about combining her family with Ben’s.

‘It’s going really, really well, it’s amazing, we have five beautiful, beautiful children, blessings…’ she said of the children.

‘We dropped one of them off at school today and we were just kind of thinking about what our lives have become and just feeling so blessed and grateful for where we wound up in our lives,’ she continued. ‘It’s a beautiful night, that’s all I can say.’

During an appearance on Today earlier this week, Jennifer said she had had her ‘best year’ in a long time after she and Ben moved in together and their children could finally be together under one roof.

‘We moved in together, the kids moved in together. So it’s been, like, a really kind of emotional transition. But at the same time, like, all your dreams coming true and it’s just been a phenomenal year. Like, my best year, I think, since my kids were born,’ gushed.

The Out Of Sight star also chatted with Extra about a recent Dunkin’ Donuts commercial she filmed with her love, even though she’s not as obsessed with the brand as he famously is.

‘He loves a Dunkin’ run!’ she joked about her husband, before clarifying that she was more of a ‘cookie’ person than a doughnut fan.

‘But he has gotten me into the love of Dunkin’ for sure,’ she added.

While speaking with People, Jennifer delved into how she tries to juggle her busy singing and acting careers with her obligations as a mother and now a stepmother.

‘I put my best foot forward as much as I can,’ she said modestly, before adding that she prefers to keep it to herself when she’s stressed out by her obligations.

‘I’m not one to share my angst. I don’t feel like that’s my life as a performer. You always show the best of you,’ she explained. ‘But I’m a human being like everybody else, and I suffer in silence at times.’

The pop star added that she had to think carefully about how many personal details she was willing to reveal to the public in her music.

‘I’ve been thinking a lot about that — like, what parts of myself do I share with my audience? And what it means to be an artist and to be authentic,’ she continued. ‘And I feel like there are some things that need to be said and shared because I think, like you just said, it’s like, “Oh, you have it all together.”‘

Jennifer added, ‘But the truth is, I’m just like anybody else. I struggle at times, and I wonder at times and I doubt at times, and I’m insecure.’

The hitmaker is set to release her ninth studio album, This Is Me … Now, later this year, though a release date hasn’t yet been announced.

The LP is the spiritual successor to This Is Me … Then, which she released in 2002 during her first relationship with Ben.

She and the Batman actor were together from that year until early 2004 and even got engaged before calling it off amid the stresses of their highly scrutinized personal and public lives.

That earlier album featured a song paying tribute to her love, Dear Ben, while This Is Me … Now includes a sequel track.

Jennifer is currently promoting her new romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding, which she stars in with Josh Duhamel and recent Golden Globe winner Jennifer Coolidge.

Her male lead was originally intended to be Ryan Reynolds, who later was replaced by Armie Hammer, only for Hammer to be removed after he was accused of sexual assault and having cannibalistic fantasies.

Josh Duhamel eventually stepped in to star opposite Jennifer. They play a couple who get cold feet after dragging their family to a tropical spot for a destination wedding, but when the entire wedding party is taken hostage, they’re forced to unite to save the day.

The film will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on January 27.
