Isla Fisher has announced the death of her beloved father Brian.

The Australian actress, 46, shared the heartbreaking news to her Instagram page on Sunday.

‘How do you live without someone that you can’t live without?’ she began.

‘How lucky am I to have had you as my dad. You were hilarious, positive and my best friend. No matter what was going on in my life, you always asked me if I was having fun.’

Isla continued: ‘I know this pain is going to get worse as the days between when I last saw you increase and that is very scary.’

‘I love you so much. Thank you for being the greatest father,’ she ended her post.

Isla is said to be very close with her family and has described her upbringing in Perth, Australia as ‘great’.

She was born in Oman but grew up in Perth, before moving back to Australia with her family.

She and her husband Sacha Baron Cohen met at a party in Sydney in 2002 and married eight years later.

Last year, the actress shared a heartwarming tribute to her father Brian on social media.

‘This is my dad, Poppa Fish,’ she wrote alongside a black and white throwback photo to her Instagram account.

‘I love him, he’s the greatest and I am so thankful to have him in my life,’ she gushed.
