‘He was taken far too soon’: Gemma Owen reveals she has been left heartbroken following the sudden death of beloved horse Sirius
Dressage rider Gemma Owen took to social media on Monday to reveal her beloved horse Sirius has died suddenly.
The former Love Island star, 19, has asked fans to ‘respect her privacy’ following the sad news, saying ‘you’ll never be replaced.’
Sharing a gallery of pictures of Sirius, Gemma wrote: ‘On Friday we lost my horse of a lifetime due to a sudden and severe illness words can’t describe how much this horse meant to me and my family.
‘He was truly one in a million everyone who met Siz will know how amazing and caring his temperament was.
‘He was taken far too soon, he has left us all heartbroken and in complete shock.’

She penned: ‘He was truly one in a million everyone who met Siz will know how amazing and caring his temperament was’
She continued: ‘You taught me so much siz and I will never be able to thank you enough, you brought so much joy and happiness to our lives and you’ll never be replaced. I love you endlessly.
‘Please respect my privacy in this painful time.’
Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma was pictured competing in a dressage competition with Sirius at Vale View Equestrian in Leicestershire last month.
She came sixth out of 23 riders in the competition. Gemma looked in her element as she rode her horse around the arena.
She was also seen sitting in the stands alongside her mum Louise Bonsall, 41, as they watched the other competitors.
An onlooker attending the event told SWNS: ‘She came sixth place yesterday out of 23 riders but she’s competing again today.
‘She seemed relaxed and happy – I think she was having a good time.’
It’s been a tough time for Gemma who split from her boyfriend Luca Bish, 23, back in November.

They had met on the last series of Love Island but things weren’t meant to be.
Just weeks ago, Gemma revealed it’s been ‘challenging’ dealing with ‘people’s opinions’ amid her split from Luca.
She and the fishmonger split on several occasions before finally deciding to go their separate ways last month after they failed to patch things up on a make or break holiday.
Speaking to Goss.ie at PrettyLittleThing’s Christmas Party in Dublin, Gemma said she’s getting through the break-up by keeping busy.
She said: ‘These last few weeks, as going through any break up, it’s not nice. It’s not a nice time.’
