The BBC soap got 2023 off to an explosive start on New Year’s Day as Lily’s mother Stacey was left stunned when a doctor revealed her little girl was pregnant, following her hospital dash amid the carbon dioxide leak.

And though fans speculated about who the dad-to-be could be, EastEnders finally confirmed who he is.

In previous scenes Lily finally learned that she was pregnant, with mum Stacey breaking down in tears as she delivered the bombshell news.

While the youngster was alarmed to discover she was expecting, she refused to reveal the identity of the father, causing worried Stacey to fear that she had been groomed by an adult.

The youngster then goes on to confirm that the father is Ricky Junior – the 12-year-old son of Sam Mitchell and Jack Branning.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
