EastEnders trailer teases drama is in store for six of Walford’s greatest women


As EastEnders is set to celebrate it’s 38th anniversary, fans can expect plenty of drama after an explosive storyline was teased. 

The TV show will be set to shine the light on six of Walford’s most famous women characters in a special week of episodes set to air later this,

The new trailer, which dropped some big hints for what is to come, showed soap fans some of their favourite characters will endure life-shattering events.

The dramatic trailer starts by showing Kellie Bright, also known as Linda Carter in the show, appearing to be deeply stressed behind the bar.

The actress can then be heard saying during the trailer, ‘There is a moment just before you do something…’

The camera then spins to Lacey Turner, also known as Stacey Slater, in the show. And Stacey is terrified by what is about to unfold.

Some other key women characters who appeared in the trailer were Gillian Taylforth (Kathy Beale), Balvinder Sopal (Suki Panesar), Diane Parish (Denise Fox), and Letitia Dean (Sharon Watts).

The trailer, which showed snippets of each key woman character looking distressed, then drew to a close.

And many questions were left unanswered as a BBC announcer declared, ‘in a flash, everything changes.’

The popular soap has recently been rising, and the teaser trailer couldn’t have come at a better time.

As the show’s overnight TV ratings has been soaring through the roof lately compared to many other soaps.

And the soap doesn’t plan to stop there, as Metro recently revealed they had been sworn to secrecy over any further details.

The teaser trailer comes after EastEnders fans figured out a significant disaster storyline for the show’s 40th anniversary.

And according to MyLondon, soap fans took to a forum on Digital Spy.

And one fan, in particular, said: ‘With EE’s big 40th approaching in 2 years, this is their chance to throw anything and everything at the screen…budget depending. With that in mind, what kind of epic disaster would be realistic for them to celebrate 40 years?’

The same user then listed various ideas for what could happen during the show.

And some of the users’ ideas included either a plane crash, a helicopter crash, or a car bomb.

Many other fans then agreed with the fans’ predictions and started throwing out their suggestions, trying to add fuel to the fire.

EastEnders will air the episodes from Monday February 20 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
