Dancing On Ice: Christopher Dean fires back at booing audience over Mollie Gallagher’s low score

Dancing On Ice: ‘I love that there’s so many experts in the room!’ Christopher Dean fires back at audience as they boo judges over Mollie Gallagher’s low score

Christopher Dean snapped back at the audience on Sunday’s Dancing On Ice as they booed the judges for the score they gave Mollie Gallagher.

The Coronation Street actress, 25, took to the ice alongside her skating partner Sylvain Longchambon, receiving a score of 26 out of 40 from the judges.

Each judge awarded her 6.5 points each but this clearly left the live audience unimpressed who started booing them after they announced their scores.

When it got to Christpher’s turn to announce his score, he sarcastically quipped: ‘I love that there’s so many experts in the room!’ at the heckling audience.

Giving his critique, the judge said he thought Mollie started off on the right foot before things took a dip.

He said: ‘You started off great, but when you started skating yourself, it slowed right down, your confidence is down a bit.’

However, he clearly has faith that she can improve as he added: ‘I’ll throw a challenge out to you; next week, do you want to be the first person to do the headbanger?’ to which Mollie replied: ‘Yes!’

Many viewers took to Twitter to comment on Mollie’s score, with some agreeing with the judges while others thought they were too harsh.

One user said: ‘Mollie was so undermarked! She skated that whole side by side sequence solidly & the acrobatics & lifts were awesome…give her extra marks forr agreeing to do the headbanger next week.’

Another wrote: ‘I’m sure the judges must copy their scores! Mollie was brilliant!’ while a third said: ‘I love Mollie, think she’s great but that wasn’t her best routine’.

A fourth agreed, saying: ‘That was not Mollie’s best skate,’ while another wrote: ‘Mollie did quite a bit of skating on her own, her points don’t show this.’

It comes after Mollie’s skating partner Sylvain was  rushed to hospital after injuring his chin while choreographing a routine for the ITV show.

The professional skater needed medical assistance after splitting his chin open during a rehearsal with his celebrity partner, Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher.

Dancing On Ice creative director Dan Whiston told The Sun: ‘We’ve had lots of falls this week, with pro-skater Sylvain rushed to hospital after hitting his chin on the ice during rehearsals.

‘He had his chin glued and luckily was back on the ice with Mollie Gallagher, who put on a solid performance.’

Despite the setback, Sylvain and Mollie picked up an impressive score of 28.5 for their emotional skate that week, performed to the song She Used To Be Mine from hit musical Waitress.
