Last month, Courtney stood by her claims that Brad Pitt had her fired from the 1999 classic, Fight Club, in a statement that she uploaded onto her main Instagram page on Friday.
The Hole songstress said in the post that the Babylon actor had allegedly ‘pushed me a bridge too far.’
The Sid And Nancy actress first alleged that Pitt was involved in her losing the role of Marla Singer, who was eventually portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter, during an interview on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast which aired on Monday.

DailyMail.com reached out to representatives for Brad at the time.
The singer and actress typed in the caption of her post, ‘Re: media/ marcmaron #wtf (fight club fracas),’ referencing to her recent interview, and added that she was further explaining the situation because, ‘I won’t be speaking on a podcast for another few years!’
During the podcast episode, Courtney had alleged that after she had rejected Brad’s idea to portray her late husband, Kurt Cobain, in a biopic, he had gotten her fired after she had claimed to have already been cast in a leading role in Fight Club.
Courtney penned to her 1.1 million followers, ‘Hi. Regarding a story I told on the @marcmaron #wtf podcast. A story I was never going to tell.’

However, the mother of one alleged, ‘Brad pushed me a bridge too far,’ she wrote, adding ‘it started during the production of Fight Club.’
The star wrote in her short statement that she has an understanding of how casting is like a ‘game of roulette,’ and expressed to her fans that, ‘I am not here 22 years later b****ing about losing a part playing someone’s side piece in a movie.’
Courtney then claimed she ‘lost my s**t’ on Brad, who portrayed Tyler Durden in Fight Club, and director Gus Van Sant, after they allegedly called her to discuss her role and rights to a film about Cobain.
The singer was notably married to the late Nirvana vocalist and guitarist from 1992 until his death by suicide in 1994. They also welcomed a daughter, Frances, who is now 30.

The star continued, ‘I lost my s**t on them, and by 7pm I was fired from Fight Club. Every word of this is factual. This was always a secret that I was fine keeping,’ she said.
She then brought up a Zoom meeting she allegedly had with the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor in 2020 about another pitch for a Kurt Cobain biopic, explaining she took the meeting, ‘because I’m in recovery. And resentment is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies.’
Courtney continued that she was ‘over being mad’ at Brad, and had ‘heard Pitt was dealing with the same demons. So, we might both have changed our spiritual world views. Not to be.’
The actress then expressed that she had said ‘no’ to Brad’s company, Plan B Entertainment, producing a Cobain biopic, adding that she felt, ‘that was not enough, and I was not heard. I was ignored.’

Towards the end of her statement, Love wrote that she never had ‘no plans’ to bring up the past, but when podcast host, Marc Maron, had brought up the topic, she opened up about the allegations as she believed Brad would continue pushing for Kurt unless she spoke out publicly.
‘I don’t want Brad to be p***ed off at me and become his resentment. I want him to do better… Cmon brother Pitt. I wish you well truly,’ she wrote to the actor. ‘If he’s made at me, that’s his problem. I enjoy him as a movie star immensely. Not so much as a biopic producer.’
To conclude, the star hoped that her words offered clarification to what she had mentioned on the podcast, and expressed ‘Helena Bonham Carter was utterly meant to be Marla Singer’ and does not ‘bear any ill will’ on anyone involved with the 1999 cult classic.
Meanwhile, a source close to the film told DailyMail.com: ‘Nearly twenty-five years ago, Courtney Love auditioned for a role in Fight Club, a role she was never offered at any point. You cannot be fired for a job you didn’t get. It’s common knowledge that roles are not decided by other actors but by the director.’
However, on the WTF podcast, Courtney claimed that she declined Pitt’s pitch to play Cobain in a film, and that she received a phone call from Fight Club director David Fincher who reportedly let her go from the project: ‘He fired me because I wouldn’t let Brad play Kurt.’
Recollections appeared to vary, as during the podcast Love said the role was already hers: ‘I get the role, so the lawyers have called the lawyers – this is my role,’ she said.
‘We’d done all these table reads, I’d gone to work privately with David, and I get this phone call and it’s from Gus Van Sant, and Gus is having lunch with Brad Pitt… He goes, “Brad really wants to do a movie about music.”‘
‘It was like the hellmouth opened, oh my God, “We wanna do it about Kurt!” And 22 years later I still kick myself for not having the shark instinct to be like, “Sure,” and f**k ‘em later. I went nuclear. “I don’t do Faust, who the f**k do you think you are?!”‘
Later she received a call from Fincher, who allegedly fired her from the film. ‘My landline rang and it was David Fincher. I knew it was gonna be him. By the way, God bless Helena Bonham Carter. She’s a genius. I’ve never seen that film … And yeah, he fired me because I wouldn’t let Brad play Kurt.’
