Dave Chappelle hit the beach in Sydney on Tuesday after his polarising Grammys win for his Netflix special The Closer.
The American comedian, 49, was surrounded by several boxes of beer at an alcohol-free beach in the eastern suburb of Coogee – but it was unclear if the drinks were for him or members of his entourage.
Chappelle, who is in Australia for his stand-up tour, was seen relaxing beneath a large cabana with the boxes of local ale sitting next to him.

Drinking alcohol at Coogee beach is prohibited 24 hours a day, with penalties reaching up to AUD$2,200.
Chappelle didn’t seem concerned about bringing beers to the beach as he relaxed on a chair next to his friends while staring down at his phone.
