The Banshees of Inisherin and All Quiet on The Western Front lead the nominations for this year’s EE British Academy Film Awards.
The nominations were announced by Hayley Atwell and Toheeb Jimoh on Thursday, ahead of next month’s ceremony for the 76th annual film awards set to be hosted by actor Richard E Grant and TV presenter Alison Hammond.
The two films will compete for Best Film alongside Elvis, Everything, Everywhere All At Once and Tar.

All Quiet on The Western Front leads the waty with 14 nominations, while The Banshees on Inisherin and Everything, Everywhere All At Once follow closely behind with 10, while Elvis has nine nods.
Over 7,000 critics took part to shortlist the best films for a host of different categories – from Best Actor to Production Design.
All Quiet on the Western Front (German: Im Westen nichts Neues) is a 2022 epic anti-war film based on the 1929 novel of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque.

Directed by Edward Berger, it stars Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch, Daniel Brühl, Sebastian Hülk, Aaron Hilmer, Edin Hasanovic and Devid Striesow.
The Banshees of Inisherin follows two lifelong friends (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) who, ‘find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship, with alarming consequences for both of them’.
Host Richard, 65, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in crime biography Can You Ever Forgive Me?, said: ‘I feel hugely privileged to be hosting the EE Baftas for the first time and the opportunity to celebrate the very best of the extraordinary range of this year’s films.’
He first rose to prominence by playing a hapless drunk actor in Withnail And I in 1987 and has had parts in Gosford Park, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and Downton Abbey.

Alison, meanwhile, is hosting BAFTA Studio, an immersive and access-all-areas experience, as part of the BBC One show and film critic Ali Plum in on the red carpet with Vick Hope.
The This Morning star, 47, said: ‘I’m so excited to be hosting at this year’s EE Bafta Film Awards with THE Richard E Grant.
She added: ‘We’re going to have a lot of fun bringing the glitz and glam of backstage to everyone watching at home around the world’.
Emma Mackey and Aimee Lou Wood, who play friends Aimee and Maeve in Sex Education, are among the nominees for the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award, which were announced on Tuesday.
Naomi Ackie, who recently took on the iconic role of global superstar Whitney Houston in Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody is also on the nomination list.

The actress, 30, said of her nomination: ‘I’ve followed and been inspired by the EE BAFTA Film Awards for so many years, so to be recognised amongst this incredible group of artists is huge!
Daryl McCormack, who is well known for his lead role in British comedy-drama Good Luck to You, and Sheila Atim, who stars in the recently released historical epic feature film The Woman King, are also in the running for the award.
The award is now in its 18th year and is the only BAFTA voted for by the public.
Voting is now open on the BAFTA website and the winner will be announced on Sunday 19 February at the EE BAFTA Film Awards ceremony.
For the first time, the ceremony will include a live broadcast to reveal the final four category winners after previously being recorded and then broadcast on the same day.
The BAFTAs will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on February 19.
