Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen reveals ‘scary medical emergency’ as one of her nine children had to be rushed to hospital in a helicopter

Our Yorkshire Farm star and shepherdess Amanda Owen revealed this week there was a ‘scary medical emergency’ on the farm recently.

Speaking to Times Radio, Amanda, 48, said one of her nine kids had to be rushed to hospital from the farm in a helicopter just before Christmas.

In a candid chat, Amanda said the incident reminded her that living in the idyllic countryside can have ‘drawbacks’ sometimes.

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen revealed this week that there was a ‘scary medical emergency’ on the property as one of her nine children had to be rushed to hospital in a helicopter

‘Three weeks before Christmas, we had another medical emergency on the farm,’ she explained.

‘And that was a scary one whereby one of the children was taken ill and that involved a helicopter coming, the air ambulance coming to pick us up.’

‘People say it must be amazing living rural, living the way you do. That’s one of the drawbacks.’

Amanda and ex-husband Clive run Ravenseat in the Yorkshire Dales, a remote working farm at which they have been tenants for more than 20 years.

The former couple are parents to Raven, 21, Reuben, 19, Miles, 16, Edith, 14, Violet, 12, Sidney, 11, Annas, nine, Clemmy, seven, and six-year-old Nancy.

Before their split was confirmed last summer, neighbours revealed to MailOnline that Amanda had moved out of the farmhouse and into their rental property down the road in Swaledale, while Clive had been staying in the farmhouse.

Amanda has since moved back to the farmhouse though, revealing in an interview this month with the Sunday Times that she and Clive have ‘two farms that are basically next door to each other, so it’s close enough for it to be useful, but far enough for us to have space.’

‘Whatever our personal situation, there’s a farm to run and nine children to look after so we’re just working together, making it happen.’

Amanda is kept busy with the thousand sheep, forty cows, six dogs and four horses who reside with her at Ravenseat, not to mention her nine children, seven of whom still live at home.
