How to make a DIY Custom Box?

You don’t have any idea of how to make a DIY custom box, then read the following steps to make a perfect DIY. Here are a few steps and you can purchase custom boxes by ECB.

Make a Rectangular Box:

Step 1: The first step in making a regular rectangular box is to choose a piece of paper. If you want to make a gift box use bright colors or you can use paper with a pattern printed on it. If you are a newbie, try polishing your skills on some scrap paper first.

Step 2: fold the piece of paper vertically in half. When using patterned paper make sure the pattern is on the outside. Unfold the paper again and see that each fold is properly creased. You can use a coin or a scale to properly crease the fold. When using a thick material you can crease it with a “scoring tool”.

Step 3: The next step is to fold each side of the paper to the crease you made in the center. The paper should now be in a section of quarters.

Step 4: Now fold the entire paper in half in accordance with the length. This step will give you a total of 8 sections on the paper.

Step 5: Do the same thing you did in step 3. With this step, you will now have 16 sections.

Step 6: Do not unfold your paper after this.

Step 7: Fold every corner and those corners will form a triangle now. By doing this step you will get an octagon.

Step 8: Fold the flaps of the box from the middle down to the triangles made in the previous step. You will see an opening in the center of the box.

Step 9: Next step is to pull out the two flaps and re-crease them.

Step 10: Ta-da! You have just created a rectangular box.

Make a Square Box:

First, choose your best paper option. Think about the purpose your box is going to serve.

Step 1: To make a square box, origami paper is the best option. Make sure that your paper is evenly creased on each side. Either you can use square paper or you can measure and cut the same paper so that each side is the same.

Step 2: Fold the paper diagonally in half, and then unfold once a crease is formed. Now turn the paper 90 degrees and repeat this step again.

Step 3: Fold each corner of the paper into the center. Your paper should now look like a small square made with four identical triangles.

Step 4: After the third step, fold the paper into two parallel edges to the center. Now the paper will be in a rectangular shape. When you will fold it completely you will be able to see that the flaps meet at the center.

Step 5: Make new folds over the folds that you created in step 4. Only the rectangular flaps should be visible.

Step 6:  Start unfolding the paper. Only fold the ones you made in step 3. Keep in mind that you are not making any new folds. After this let them sit in a vertical direction.

Step 7: Lift the paper by any side of the central triangle. Don’t use too much force that you end up tearing the paper. The triangles will make the side of your box.

Step 8: Push the two triangles inward and pinch the central creases to invert the triangles. Hence, this will make your paper start folding and will lift the new side up.

Step 9: Start by folding the remaining triangle into the box. You will have created a square box with three triangles.
