The world is your oyster. You can get anything you want, but you have to open up that shell and grab it with both hands. That’s how it goes in the world of promoting software/apps/games, etc.
Every once in a while, there are giveaways where developers or publishers let out promotional codes for their apps or software. If you’re lucky, the app may be free for a limited time.
As luck would have it, I was able to get in contact with Austin and he sent me a list of websites where you can score free promo codes:
#1: AppSumo (no longer available)
If you don’t already know about this site, I suggest that you check it out. They often have some pretty good deals of the day, but they never fail to amaze me with their publishing prowess.
AppSumo has tons of material on how to get free app promo codes. You can go through their blog or sign up for their newsletter or daily digest (right sidebar).
They regularly release information on where to get free promo codes.
#2: Stack Social (no longer available)
Much like AppSumo, they provide tons of free promo code too. They also have a blog and you can also sign up for their newsletter or daily digest (right sidebar).
#3: FreeAppADay
FreeAppADay is one of the biggest sites that provides free promo codes. You can get them for various apps and games.
If you want the best out of FreeAppADay, then I suggest that you join their mailing list (upper right-hand corner) so you can stay in touch with what’s going on around there such as when they will release new codes. It might be a good idea if you also sign up for the daily digest (right sidebar).
#4: FreeAppMonster
I always go to this site when I want to get into that frenzy of trying to grab as many free promo codes as possible. No doubt about it, they’re really generous with their codes.
They also have a blog where they share tips on how to get free promo codes and they also have a newsletter you can subscribe to (right sidebar).
#5: AppDeals
This site provides some pretty good deals of the day for apps or games on sale. You can get them for pretty cheap until the offer expires.
They also have a blog where they post interesting tidbits, Appyeet on where to get free promo codes.
#6: AppGratis
AppGratis is the mobile version of Groupon, which helps you discover great apps for free or heavily discounted prices. You can browse through their homepage and see all the current offers they have. It doesn’t hurt if you sign up for their newsletter (right sidebar) to keep updated.
#7: AppOfTheDay
If you haven’t already guessed it, this site provides promotional codes for apps that are currently on sale or free. You can even get some pretty good deals if you’re quick enough. If you want the best offers faster, then sign up for their daily digest (right sidebar).
#8: AppShopper
This is another one of my favorite sites to get promo codes. You can find new releases on sale or free on their homepage under What’s New. They also have a newsletter (upper right-hand corner) you can subscribe to.
#9: FreeAppSpot
Like the name suggests, this site is all about free apps. They have a nice little search bar on their homepage where you can type in any keyword to find what you are looking for. You can also sign up for their daily digest (right sidebar).
#10: FreeGamePick
This list wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention this site. FreeGamePick is another web portal that provides free promo codes and they also have a blog (top banner) where you can learn how to get these freebies. They regularly post articles on their site and blog about how to score free promo codes for all kinds of apps and games, so make sure you check them out.
They also have a daily digest (right sidebar) you can subscribe to, where they announce the latest freebies for several apps.
#11: Joystiq
This site has tons of articles about how to get free promo codes that are often updated, so be sure to check it out frequently. They also have a newsletter (upper right-hand corner) you can subscribe to.
